October 9, 2011, Maui Sunday

We both woke at 5 am, up at 5:30 am.

The laundry room is just across the hall, and the view on that side is the mountains.  $2.00 to wash, $3.00 to dry.  It was worth it.

10-9-2011 Front Street Lahaina, the first street to the right is Shaw Street, it goes to Hwy. 30.

10-9-2011 The "L' in the mountain is for Lahaina High School.

10-9-2011 It rains a lot in the mountains, but not in Lahaina, Lahaina is very dry.  Average temperature in Lahaina is 84 in the day, and 65 at night...in October.

10-9-2011  I'm waiting for the laundry to get done.

We walked to Lahaina at 10 am to see the local artists at the banyan tree in the park.  It was interesting.  Walking through town was always fun, lots to look at, and the breeze from the ocean made it comfortable.

Did lunch at Kimo, ate on the water front patio.  It was very good.

Then we went on the walking tour of the historical and cultural sites throughout Lahaina.  Lahaina was the first Capital of the Kingdom of Hawaii.

Came back to the Lahaina Shores Beach Resort and spent some time just relaxing by the ocean.

Went to Betty's for dinner and watched the Polynesian Lu'au from Betty's while we ate.  The Lu'au is called the Feast at Lele.
